Chairman's
Message
Richard Brown, Chairman
of the Board
Our new year
in the Farmers Branch Chamber of Commerce is off to a
fast pace. On January 15th, Leadership on the
Move with Dick
Hammond, Founder,
presented our first seminar called Leadership Dynamics.
During this three hour seminar we learned how to apply
five leadership qualities and applied them with group
activities. Then Dick provided a special two hour
leadership Dynamics to the 2008 Officers and Directors
of the Chamber. We learned a lot about our different
leadership styles that will benefit us as we work
together in 2008 to accomplish all the programs and
special events planned. Thank you, Dick, for a
successful and outstanding day learning leadership
qualities and identifying our individual styles. Watch
for more special event seminars planned this
year.
The State of
The City
Address is set for
Thursday, January 31st at the Sheraton Dallas
North. This evening dinner will highlight the City of
Farmers
Branch with a
keynote address by our Mayor, Bob Phelps. We hope you
will be there to hear about the exciting things
happening in Farmers
Branch.
Make your plans today to attend our
Sweetheart Luncheon on Friday, February 8th
at Brookhaven Country Club. Our guest speaker will be
Mary Handley. Mary has been Called "The Erma Bombeck of
this century". Humor will be her key as she delivers a
wonderful message.
Also, be sure to mark your calendars for
the Wild & Wacky Waiter Dinner on April
4th!
Stay tuned for more exciting luncheons,
seminars and special events in
2008.
Sincerely,
Richard
Brown
Chairman
of the Board

February Sweetheart
Luncheon
"Make Everyday a Great Day: It's All
About Attitude!"

Join us on February 8th as Mary Handley shares an
inspirational message on attitude. Don't forget your
Sweethearts!
Our attitude affects who we are
today, and who we will become tomorrow. This determines
how successful we are in living life to the fullest. If
we want to make an impact in our world, we must possess
the right tools to make a difference. Once we have found
the "answers" to a better, more fulfilling life, we can
pass these great truths to others. We will look at ten
things we can do to make sure we live everyday as
joyfully and successfully as possible. We will learn how
to live with a positive attitude in a world that is
often negative.
